The great pumpkin

A few years ago while on our way back from the Make A Wish triathlon in Bethany Beach, Heather and I picked up a huge pumpkin and carved it with some friends.

This year, we found an even larger one (on our way back from the same Tri). Sadly, we failed to carve it this time, but it was worth a picture. Overall, it was a disappointing Halloween. We live on a cul-de-sac so there aren’t that many trick-or-treaters. This year was especially quiet (only 3 knocks on the door between 6:45 and 9:15). My prediction that I would eat more candy than we distributed came true fourfold.

The good news is that the little girl from the picture above remains adorable. I am also thankful for Facebook and everyone who posted photos of their little ones in costume.

  1. I too have been looking at facebook pictures for the past three days. There are some super cute costumes out there. What are you going to do with your giant uncarved pumpkin?

  2. You bring up a good question that we hadn’t considered until this weekend. I imagine a chainsaw might be involved.
