Why ABCTE exists, part 7,432

I came across this article in the Washington Post earlier today. For my lazy readers, it tells the story of a teacher (who, by all accounts, is really good at his job) being hassled and almost fired due to the teacher certification bureaucracy in the state of Maryland. Miraculously, all of his problems went away once it became known that Jay Matthews was going to write about it.

Had ABCTE been an option in Maryland when this gentleman started teaching, I suspect he would have chosen us.
